Hi guys ! Hope everything is well ! So I have news coming that I will tell you this week sometime about my move . But as you see I made vegan cinnamon rolls. I was super excited to make these because they have been on my Pinterest recipe list for FOREVER . The recipe for the rolls are Here . I pretty much followed the recipe to a tea . What I will say is to have extra flour on deck because the dough will be sticky but you want to make sure it isn’t so I added until my dough wasn’t sticky .
I put my dough in the oven with a cloth over it for about 1 hour and 30 minutes . While it was rising I was watching this Hindu film called Highway and boy did it make me cry like a baby . I’m a glutton for punishment . Sue me 🤷🏾♀️
After my dough finished rising I followed the recipe what I would double the cinnamon sugar and butter mixture it wasn’t much honestly but I knew the icing would help to with the sweetness .
So while I let these babies rise so more for 30 minutes I realized that someone threw out my powdered sugar .( angry much? Yesssss) So now I had to figure out what I would top my rolls with so I said I had some leftover pecans and I thought what about caramel . I thought it was going to be a fail but surprisingly it wasn’t .
All you need is
1/2 cup non dairy butter
2/3 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of almond milk
I let the butter and sugar cook down on medium high heat . Once I saw the bubbles get very big I added in my milk . It will appear to be thin initially but just let it cook on low heat and then you have beautiful caramel . I added in some sea salt and it’s really good .
All in all this recipe is great . The dough and the filling is delicious . You should give it try !! Enjoy your Sunday guys ✌🏾
